My Memorial Day Weekend in Under 400 Words:

Friday:
--- Picked up my new bike seat from the UPS office (my new best friend).
--- Traveled to Iowa City for the weekend.
--- Went to the LBS with my dad…he got a new bike!
--- Had awesome local pizza for dinner.
--- Hung out with my mom’s brother and his wife before heading to bed at 10pm.

Saturday:
--- Hit the road by 6:30am for a bike ride…the plan was to bike and mess with the seat at the same time, didn’t work out so well and cut the ride short around 16 miles.
--- Got attacked by a red-winged black bird…thank goodness for helmets!
--- Went to a shooting range with my sister’s boyfriend for the first time (it was fun!).
--- Headed over to my cousin’s graduation party for the afternoon…got caught up with the family (21 members of my mom’s side was in town…not even half of them).
--- Went to dinner to check out Britney’s brother working at Vesta.
--- Partied with my mom’s family after graduation (they party, after party and then occasionally have an after-after party).

Sunday:
--- Up at 7:00am for another ride (after more tweaking with the new seat). Had a better ride, higher speed and kept my cadence in my solid zone.
--- Biked to breakfast with my dad. Picture it: me riding my Felt triathlon racing bike next to my dad and his new commuter bike (pictured below). Gotta love bonding…James Bonding!
--- Drove out to the Better Half’s parent’s house to do yard work in preparation for a Memorial day party…we mowed a volleyball court in the middle of a prairie…lots of work!
--- Crashed by 10pm (loser, I know).

Monday:
--- Up early, but for no reason.
--- Megan, my best friend from high school came by for a visit (she lives in CA now). She joined us for brunch.
--- Went to a family friend’s for brunch…about 20 people where there with AWESOME food!
--- Took a beautiful nap.
--- Partied at the in-laws all evening, kicking butt in volleyball with family and friends!

Tuesday:
--- Up at 6:00am to pack the car to head back up home!
--- Proudly saw my dad off to work for his first day on his new bike:
 
Isn’t he cute! The bike: Trek 7200, with fenders, a rack and kickstand…a totally pimped out commuter bike!
--- Came back home and went straight to work…gotta love real life!
